We had our 4:30 pm LUNCH today at the famous Katz’s Deli on the Lower East Side. We had a large, juicy and tender, $14.95 pastrami sandwich with pickles (worth every penny), fries, root beer, and a flat Katz’s ale. Katz’s is a Jewish kosher style deli born in 1888; it’s got a ton of history, but most of you might recognize it as the site of the famous fake orgasm scene in When Harry Met Sally.

Day One ......No Sleep 'til Brooklyn
Three days of no sleep ............. no really, no sleep. We can now add packing and cleaning professionals to our resumes. The hard work has paid off and we finally made it here. We can't believe we're in New York! It took us 13 hours to get here, with a pit stop in St. Paul/Minn. We'll be staying with friends in Williamsburg, Brooklyn until we find our own place.
Our first meal in Brooklyn was at Snacky, where they offer a funky Asian cluster f*#ck of Japanese, Korean, and Chinese hybrid dishes. No complaints from this camp. We had popsies (mini burgers) with wasabi mayo, kim chee hot dog, and a refreshing summer noodle dish. The bill was so cheap considering this is NYC and we had sake and beer.
