Prior to our trip to the Roxbury, we had fantastic brunch at Klee (German for "clover"), a European American brasserie located at 200 9th avenue that's received very favorable reviews and praise since its opening.
Chef and owner of Klee Daniel Angerer beat Bobby Flay on Iron Chef America. Good job! Angerer was a former chef at the upscale Jean Georges. He even has his own food blog.
This cornflake crusted French toast is one of the best French toasts you'll ever taste. Served with bananas and Vermont maple syrup. I'm still drooling just thinking about this. Fluffy and sweet goodness. Just brilliant.
Ample amount of cornflakes, and on both sides of the toast! Needless to say this was gone in less than seven minutes and I licked the plate.
Their open face egg white omelette was delicious as well for the person trying to be healthy.
The decor is warm and inviting.
You can sit at the bar and take advantage of their summer bar specials like three mini Maine Lobster rolls and a Kolsh German Ale for $14.
Other menu items include their favored pork belly, BBQ black hog, Rhode Island monk fish, mini pot of Muscovy duck pate, mac & cheese made from Austrian sptzel pasta, Viennese schnitzel, duck prosciutto sandwich, shrimp and lemon risotto, and grilled Kobe Bratwurst. We'll be dreaming of food tonight.
